Mission of Integrative Omics Branch
1. Characterize and classify the structural chemistry of nutrient-responsive elements and systems in humans.
2. Determine functional implications of structural variation in elements of these systems.
We use state-of-the-science chemoinformatic databases to identify nutrient-linked binding domains in proteins, lipids and genetic material. These findings are used for inquiry and inference using GWAS, EWAS, PheWAS and metabolic profiles of people with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and their AMD-free peers.
